What Ayurveda means
The knowledge of life
Ayurveda comes from the Sanskrit words ayur, meaning life, and veda, meaning knowledge. It is a traditional Indian system of medicine that looks at health through the body, mind, food, sleep, routine, season, and individual constitution.
What Ayurveda may support
Care for common patterns of imbalance
Guests often come to Ashwattha seeking support for concerns that build slowly over time. Ayurveda looks at these patterns through the body, mind, digestion, sleep, routine, and overall strength.

Treatments
Therapies used in Ayurvedic care
Not every treatment is suitable for everyone. The treatment chosen depends on your concern, body type, season, duration, and whether you choose a prepared reset or consultation-led care.

Oil and body therapies
Warm oil-based therapies where medicated oil is applied, massaged, poured, or supported with steam. These may be used for relaxation, stiffness, body heaviness, circulation, and general rejuvenation, depending on your body type and concern.
A full-body oil massage using warm medicated oil selected for your body type and concern.
A traditional oil therapy where warm medicated oil is poured over the body while gentle massage is given.
A gentle steam therapy usually given after oil massage, where suitable, to support sweating, oil absorption, and relief from stiffness or heaviness.

Dhara therapies
Dhara therapies use a steady stream of medicated liquid, such as oil, milk, or herbal decoction, poured over the forehead or body. They may be used for rest, cooling, nervous system support, sleep, or whole-body rejuvenation.
A steady stream of warm medicated oil is poured over the forehead to support mental calm, rest, and sleep.
A steady stream of medicated milk is poured over the body or forehead when a cooling, soothing effect is needed.
A steady stream of herbal decoction is poured over the body, selected based on your concern and treatment plan.
A full-body dhara where medicated liquid is poured over the body in a steady flow.
A dhara using Triphala-based herbal decoction, often included in selected skin, hair, heat, or cleansing-related plans.

Kizhi therapies
Kizhi therapies use warm herbal, leaf, powder, or rice bundles applied to the body. They may be used for stiffness, body discomfort, heaviness, circulation, and nourishment, depending on the preparation used.
Warm herbal powder bundles are applied over the body, commonly for stiffness, aches, body heaviness, and circulation.
Warm bundles made with medicinal leaves and herbs are applied over the body, often for muscle, joint, or swelling-related discomfort.
Bundles filled with cooked Navara rice are applied to the body, usually in rejuvenation plans that focus on strength and nourishment.
